The renowned Ottoman civil code, The Majallah, includes an introductory section with 99 carefully selected legal maxims. These maxims served as guiding principles, equipping jurists with essentials tools for interpeting & applying the civil code across various cases.
 
This commentary provides concise explanations of the 99 Maxims, with two or three examples per Maxim to aid students of Fiqh. Each Maxim is covered in a page or two for clarity and accessibilty.
